Why did Leah have weak eyes? And how does that statement in Genesis have anything to do with the rest of the Bible?

When two men converse with each other they use each other’s name, but if one man speaks to a group he doesn’t use the names of the individuals in the group but addresses the group en masse. in Genesis chapter 1 God speaks to humanity, but God begins to speak to an individual man in Genesis chapter 2.
